Our overlay patches are designed to stay put through everyday water exposure without needing to be reapplied. They don't replace the water-resistance rating of your sensor or Pod — that comes from the manufacturer — but they add a soft edge that helps keep the sensor housing anchored to your skin when you're moving, wet and drying off.

Frequently asked questions

Are these patches waterproof?
Our patches are designed to stay put through everyday water exposure — showers, swimming lessons, beach days — without needing to be reapplied. They are not IPX-rated and they do not change the water rating of your CGM or Pod itself.

How long does a patch last with regular swimming?
Applied to clean, dry skin and pressed for 20–30 seconds, most patches last the full sensor session (10 days for Dexcom G6/G7, 14 days for Libre, 3 days for Omnipod) even with regular showering and swimming. Rough drying, hot tubs and prolonged salt water can shorten this.

Can I go in the sea with the patch on?
Yes. Rinse off with fresh water after and pat dry gently rather than rubbing. Salt and sand are more likely to lift the edges than the water itself.

Which device do I pick?
On every product page, the "Choose your device" option lets you pick Libre 1&2, Libre 3, Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7, Omnipod (horizontal or vertical) or Medtronic Guardian. We cut each patch to match.

Are SmileSensors patches medical devices?
No. Our patches are decorative accessories designed to sit over the sensor housing. They do not replace, cover the reading area or interfere with the sensor's function. Always follow the sensor manufacturer's instructions.
