Winter brings practical problems. Sleeves catching on the edge of the sensor, jumpers pulling at the adhesive, dry skin around the application site. A patch sits between your skin and your clothing, smoothing the edge and giving the sensor a defined wear-area instead of a hard plastic island. Frequently asked questions

Will the patch still stick in cold weather?

Adhesion is designed for everyday wear including cold months. We recommend applying the patch to clean, dry skin at room temperature before going outside, and giving it a couple of minutes to bond.

Does dry winter skin affect how well the patch sticks?

Yes. If your skin is very dry, moisturising the area the day before application (and letting it absorb fully) tends to help the adhesive bond properly. Avoid moisturising the application area on the day itself.

Can I wear a winter patch with a jumper or coat?

Yes, that's exactly what the patch helps with. The smoother edge reduces snagging when you pull layers on and off.

Are these designs good for gifting?

Winter designs work well as gifts for adults and teenagers with type 1 — particularly during the gift-giving months of November to February.
