The Night Before Christmas

The Night Before Christmas

A Christmas Eve poem from one T1D family to another. Because the diabetes alarm doesn't take Christmas off, but neither do we.

The Night Before Christmas (a T1D Version)

It was the night before Christmas, there wasn't a sound,
Well, except of course for the diabetes alarm, that was very loud.
Quietly creep into their room, making sure the fast-acting glucose goes down,
Relax, breathe, they'll be ok now.

Santa: "What are you doing awake?"
Mum or Dad: "It's Type 1 diabetes. It never gives you a break.
Not even on Christmas Eve, but don't worry, we still believe…
In the magic of Christmas and spreading the cheer."

Back to bed now, to make it another wonderful year.
Type 1 won't stop us from having fun,
Making beautiful memories as we spend time with everyone.

Have a Merry Christmas. Love from Smile Sensors.
